Our Take
Most pillow complaints come down to one number: height. Too high and a back sleeper’s chin presses toward the chest; too low and a side sleeper’s neck bends all night. The shredded memory foam pillow attacks that problem directly — the fill is adjustable, so instead of hoping a factory got your loft right, you unzip the cover and set it yourself.
Inside the breathable outer shell is a generous charge of shredded memory foam blended with airy fiber. Fresh out of the box the pillow is tall and supportive, calibrated for side sleepers and larger frames. Prefer something lower? Open the zipper, take out a few handfuls of fill, store them in a bag, and the same pillow becomes a medium or low-profile cushion for back or stomach sleeping. Shredded foam has another advantage over the solid-slab memory foam pillows it competes with: airflow. Solid foam traps heat in a single dense block, while shredded pieces leave thousands of tiny channels for air to move through. Care & Longevity

Does it have the typical new-foam smell?
A light foam scent is normal on unboxing and airs out within a day or two in a ventilated room.
How much fill can I remove?
As much as you like — the zipper gives full access. Most back sleepers remove roughly a fifth to a quarter of the fill; stomach sleepers a bit more.
Is it heavy?
Noticeably heavier than a fiber pillow, as all memory foam pillows are. That weight is also why it stays in place and holds its shape.
